First prize: Tegan Anne Wright, North Lake Senior Campus about Katherine Summers.
Each student is new, each teacher is friendly, but this person is bright. Yes, she walks, talks, writes and reads, but she is different to each one of us. With her enthused eyes behind her sweet glasses and her powerful voice of wisdom, she rules over each class with her imagination, creativity and her different points of view. This magnificent teacher is my teacher, Katherine Summers, who teachers Media and English. She always helps every student in more then one way and gives us the power of our lives. She is the hero in my stories, the bright sunny sun in my dreams, she is the one who pushes me forward to pursue out dreams. I would never have any other teacher if my life depended on it.
Second prize: Kristal Clements about Mr Neil Clucas and the teachers at John Semptimus Roe Anglican Community College.
From day-one till the end they’ve been right by our side
they’ve taught us and helped us through life’s greatest ride
though they keep sshhing and pushing for us to do more
till it gets to a stage, where we say ‘just no more!’
but still they help out again, making us smile
and try make us study just once-in-a-while
but truly I wouldn’t know what to do
if it really wasn’t for all of you
who helped me out through all of these times
and always made sure I was pulled back into line
so I’m grateful and thankful for all of your care
and all of the memories and knowledge you’ve shared
so when it is time for us to all go
I just really wanted to let you guys know
that it was because of you why I had so much fun
and why I lived through high school, still intact and in one.
