Employing staff
All teachers employed in Western Australian schools must be members of the Western Australian College of Teaching. It is therefore important that their current membership card be produced.
If you are looking to employ a staff member with specialist skills who does not meet the eligibility requirements for registration with the College, you may wish to consider supporting him or her to secure a limited authority to teach. This category of membership allows principals to employ staff in areas of need where a qualified teacher is unavailable. Application forms are available here.
